Directions are very important for various purposes according to Vaastu Shastra, yet Vastu Shastr gives more importance to Courtyard of the house for Prosperity, Health and Wellness of the family. Courtyard is generally referred to the central part of the house, called Brahma Sthan, which should be open to the sky and have the Holy Tulsi plant in the center which should be worshiped every morning to bring happiness into the house.

But in modern era due to lack of space, highrise buildings and multiple factors, Courtyards are not possible to design, hence Vastu Shastr says to find the center point / Brahma Sthan of your house / flat and place a Earthenware Decorative Pot made of mud, may be colorful or plain (check Earthenware Decorative Pot example), keep this part of 1 sq. feet area clean and light a candle or lamp to worship God Brahma. Importantly, for lamps use ghee or mustard oil only or simply light up a wax candle.
